Why you should take a break…
Have you ever felt like giving up everything at a certain point in your life?
You start zoning out.
You felt the negative pressure that is coming from every aspect of your life…
Doing work that makes no sense or whatsoever, debt kept piling up as the interest overlaps, you stop socializing, your relationship with your loved ones seems to be shaky then.
You keep telling yourself it’s gonna get better but in fact, you are just running away from it. Not knowing how you can solve it or what should be done.
You have no idea who to turn to but to bottle everything up in yourself. It’s defense mechanism that causes you more harm than good, but everyone does it as they wouldn’t want anyone to get involved in their personal life. You might think it’s for the best but it only makes you feel much more dreadful than before.
You will most likely look like this, sad on the outside, dreadful on the inside. If you don’t believe me, look at the mirror and ask yourself what do you see?
Do you see the resemblance?
Do you notice that this can eat you slowly on the inside?
Do you really want this to happen to you?
Close your eyes and think of a moment where you were once proud of yourself. Do you see yourself at that moment?
What was different?
Do you see the difference? How can you foresee yourself being who you want to be again?
Do you need a break?
When you realised that you are moving backwards instead of forward, that is a clear indicator that you should take a BREAK now.
But how do you take a break?
This is not like a short 5 minutes break where you have a smoke break or just take a quick power nap but it is a break for your mind and body.
Ask yourself what was one thing that you love to do back then but didn't had the chance to do it now?
Was it gaming? Was it going for a swim? Was it reading a book you like?
Decide on one!
Now that you have decided on one. Ask yourself how long do you need? A week, a month?
Take out your phone and schedule it, set a reminder.
Make this a priority in your recovery process. Even great leaders or influential people takes break now and then.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Always remember that.
Go on and take a break!
You are not a robot but someone who is capable of loving themselves. A peaceful mind gets you moving but a noisy mind only stops you from progressing.
I hope this helps you get your focus back. Everyone needs a reminder now and then including me.
